My Stylevana K-beauty skincare haul UK for June. June was when I was really starting to get into a proper skincare routine. Not the “slap on a moisturiser and hope for the best” approach I’d been doing for years, but an actual considered routine with actual steps. Stylevana sent me these products to review. Use code INF10NEVE for up to 25% off – full details on my Stylevana discount code page. If you are still deciding whether to risk an order, I have since written whether Stylevana is legit after five years of buying from them myself.
My other Stylevana hauls: April haul, March haul, August haul.
What was in the June box
I’m going through these in the order I actually use them, rather than the order they came out of the box. Combo to oily skin and mild rosacea on my cheeks, as ever, and it was hot and humid while I was testing all this, which matters more than you’d think for a couple of them.
iUNIK Centella Bubble Cleansing Foam
This one has 69% centella asiatica extract in place of water, plus tea tree leaf water and rice bran extract.
Really gentle on my skin, no stripping at all. I use it as my morning cleanse and as a second cleanse in the evening after my oil cleanser. It will not take your makeup off, so don’t buy it expecting that. One to one and a half pumps, maybe two.
In the humidity it’s been perfect. I wake up and my face feels like it needs something, and this is gentle enough to just wake me up and get me started without doing anything drastic.
I’ve had good luck with almost everything from iUNIK. I’m rotating their tea tree and black snail serums at the moment and the snail one is the one I keep reaching for, which is a nice bit of continuity from the April haul where I said I’d buy a full size of it after the mini.
RiRe Pore Tightening Fresh Toner
The claim is deep cleansing and minimising large pores. It’s got Amazon white clay, volcanic ash extract, tea tree extract and aloe vera extract, plus resveratrol and niacinamide, which anyone who follows me knows is a firm favourite ingredient of mine.
It contains fragrance. It’s listed last on the ingredients but I can tell you it smells potent going on, and it hangs around for a while afterwards before it dissipates. If fragrance gives you headaches or you just avoid it, steer clear of this one.
It does feel refreshing and cooling, which I liked. It’s also a bit tacky on the skin, which I liked less.
On the pores, I’ve noticed no difference at all. That might be on me rather than the toner. I’ve been using niacinamide for years, so whatever pore benefit I was going to get from it has probably already happened. And there’s no closing a pore anyway. You can clean one out, but none of us are going to be poreless creatures, that’s just being a human being.
Other people I’ve spoken to have had good luck with this. Your mileage may vary.
Make P:rem My Best Skin Friend set
Favourite thing in the box, and it’s two essences in a little presentation box.
Comfort Me Tea Tree Calming Essence
86% tea tree leaf extract and five types of hyaluronic acid. It’s a gel essence that sinks in quickly, it comes in a squeezy bottle which I love, and it’s fragrance free.
Worked really nicely on combo oily skin, lightly hydrating without leaving me greasy. I did notice some reduction in the redness on my rosacea-prone cheeks. I’ll keep using it and I want to try the others in the series.
Panthenol Moisture Essence
Panthenol at 11,000 ppm to strengthen the skin barrier and add moisture, plus ceramides. Fragrance free like the other one.
Creamier and more moisturising than the tea tree essence. It takes a bit longer to sink into my combo skin, but it feels great going on and I’ll likely be repurchasing.
Here’s the thing I didn’t expect. The tea tree one is the one with the soothing name, but the panthenol one is the one that actually soothed my rosacea more. If you made me pick one, blue top, no hesitation. My cheeks go redder in summer humidity and that’s the one that helped.
I use both, though. Tea tree first because it’s the lighter clear gel, then the panthenol over the top.
Berrisom Face Wrapping Mask Collagen Solution 80
A gold two-layer sheet mask. One side is the gold, the other is a cellulose material meant to stop the essence evaporating off.
Very moisturising, left my skin glowy, no irritation. The packet comes absolutely soaked so there’s plenty of essence.
Two practical warnings. It’s very thin so it tears easily coming out of the packet, be gentle with it. And it’s a two-part mask, an eye piece and a mouth piece, so put the eye one on first. I did it the other way round and had the whole thing slipping about on my face. Once it was secured and patted down it stayed put fine and I wore it 20 to 30 minutes.
The Pure Lotus Amenity Set
Travel sizes of a cleanser, a cream and an essence, from a brand I’d never tried before this.
Looking into them, The Pure Lotus is a cruelty-free Korean brand from Jeju Island, built around white lotus leaf extract from Jeju, nelumbo nucifera leaf extract, which is meant to be a strong antioxidant. It seems to be in everything they make.
All three felt nice on. But the Revitalizing Cream irritated my skin the few times I used it, my cheeks went red and angry, and I need to be honest about that even though I’ve only had a couple of days with it.
That’s the problem with a mini set. They’re small, I’m testing other things alongside them, and I haven’t given these the run they need. I like to give a product proper time before I decide anything. I’ll update on Instagram stories once I’ve had longer with them.
VT Essence Sun Pact SPF50+ PA+++
I assumed this was a normal cushion sunscreen when it arrived. It isn’t. It’s a solid balm rather than a liquid cushion, with a pretty swirl pattern in the pan and a slightly beigey-blue tint to it.
Going on over moisturiser it’s properly cooling and it adds a real glow. It does lighten my skin with a luminous sheen, which I didn’t mind at all, and it looks lovely under foundation.
Reapplying over makeup is where it gets interesting. It leaves me glowy, and a bit of my foundation transfers onto the cushion pad, though not enough to worry about and it didn’t lift much off my face. After a while in the heat I did look oily, but that’s humidity plus makeup plus an oily t-zone plus reapplied SPF all stacked together, not the product’s fault.
Worth saying, because people get this wrong with cushion SPFs: you need to apply a proper amount to actually get the protection on the label. It looks like a lot going on. It’s meant to.
Faint typical sunscreen scent, nothing overpowering. I suspect I’ll like this more in winter, when the extra moisture and glow are a bonus rather than a complication.
This was the third Korean sunscreen in as many Stylevana boxes. If you want the ingredient side rather than the wear notes, I go through it properly in The Best Korean Sunscreen Is the One You’ll Actually Reapply.
My favourites from the June box
The two Make P:rem essences, the iUNIK centella cleanser, and the VT sun pact. The pact especially, it’s a genuinely nifty way to reapply sunscreen over makeup.
FAQ
What is a good K-beauty skincare routine for beginners?
A beginner K-beauty routine typically follows a cleanse, tone, treat, moisturise, and protect structure. Start with a gentle cleanser, a hydrating toner, one active serum, a suitable moisturiser, and SPF every morning. Build slowly – adding too many products at once makes it impossible to know what’s working.
