Olive Young is genuinely the go-to for Korean beauty – it’s been around since 1999 and is the largest health and beauty retailer in South Korea. The global site gives you access to brands and products you simply won’t find elsewhere, including things that aren’t on Skinsider or YesStyle yet. If you’re serious about K-beauty, it’s worth having an account.

Olive Young UK shipping, delivery times and customs

Nobody puts this bit on a discount code page because it’s boring and slightly stressful. But it’s the thing people actually worry about before ordering direct from Korea, so here it is.

Will I get charged customs or import VAT?

Possibly, and it depends entirely on how big your order is. Olive Young’s own shipping terms say product prices and shipping fees don’t include taxes or customs duties, and that additional charges may happen on delivery. So don’t assume the checkout total is the final total on a large haul.

Here’s the rough shape of the UK rules as they stand in July 2026:

• Goods valued at £135 or under (that’s the value of the products themselves, not counting shipping) – no customs duty applies.
• Goods valued over £135 – customs duty can apply, plus import VAT at 20% calculated on the goods, the shipping and any duty combined. Couriers usually add their own handling fee on top for collecting it.

Worth flagging: the government has confirmed the £135 duty-free threshold is going away eventually, but the replacement arrangements aren’t expected until around 2029. So it still applies for now. I’m not a customs expert and these rules move, so check gov.uk before placing a big order if the numbers matter to you.

How to keep your Olive Young total down

Put those together and there’s a fairly obvious sweet spot: an order comfortably over US$60 so shipping is free, but with the goods value staying under £135 so nothing gets stopped at the border. If you’re planning a genuinely big haul, splitting it into two orders in that band is usually cheaper than one enormous basket, even accounting for the wait. What I actually buy at Olive Young (rosacea and seb derm edition)

Anua first. Always. The Heartleaf Pore Control Cleansing Oil and the Heartleaf 77% Toner are the two I come back to most – both are brilliant for calming redness-prone skin without stripping anything, and neither bothers my seb derm. I’ve got type 1 rosacea and seborrhoeic dermatitis running simultaneously (fun combination, highly recommend, very glamorous), so my shopping brief is basically: anti-inflammatory, barrier-friendly, Malassezia-safe where possible. Anua ticks all of those boxes, which is why it never comes off my list.

Beyond Anua – Beauty of Joseon SPF when it’s in stock (the Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics is my current favourite), Isntree products for hydration, and whatever else catches my eye that I haven’t tried yet. Olive Young specifically is good for finding brands you won’t easily get on the bigger international sites – there’s a lot of smaller, newer K-beauty that shows up here first. It’s worth browsing beyond the obvious names if you’ve already got the Anua and the COSRX covered.
