I opened this box expecting serums. You know, the usual. A toner, maybe a sunscreen if I was lucky.
And then I pulled out something with a charging cable.
My latest STYLEVANA haul is seven things, and they’re a real mix. There’s a milky PDRN toner, two serums, a cushiony moisturizer, a sun serum, and then two bits from mommy care that turn my bathroom into a tiny home facial clinic (one of them is a whole four-mode device, which I did not see coming). So this isn’t one of those posts where everything is basically the same product in a different bottle. If you’re new to ordering from them, I’ve written up whether STYLEVANA is legit after five years of orders.
What I care about with skincare, honestly, is pretty boring. Does it pill under the next layer, and does it leave me shiny or comfy? That’s what I’m looking at here, product by product, because a fancy ingredient list means nothing if the stuff balls up under my sunscreen.
At a glance
All seven products were gifted by STYLEVANA, which ships to the UK and the US, and my code INF10NEVE takes up to 25% off. For everyday hydration on combination skin, the iUNIK Beta Glucan serum is my top pick. The SKIN1004 Water-Fit Sun Serum is very dewy, so it suits dry and normal skin best. The mommy care Green Collagen gel is made for the V-THERA device (STYLEVANA sells the two as a set), and I’ve been using it with the Penta Prime, a four-mode facial device that charges by cable.

Table of Contents
Medicube PDRN Pink Niacinamide Milky Toner
Best for: normal, dry, dehydrated or combination skin that likes a richer toner

The Medicube PDRN Pink Niacinamide Milky Toner is probably the one you’ve already seen everywhere, and I get why. It sits somewhere between a toner and a light lotion.
It’s milky. Really milky. Thicker than a watery toner, but nowhere near a cream, more like a very thin lotion that sinks in while you’re still patting. One layer is plenty for me in the morning, and when my skin feels thirsty I do two thin layers and it ends up soft and cushioned.
Niacinamide sits high on the list (SkinSort shows it third, right after water and glycerin), and the PDRN comes from Sodium DNA further down. So while PDRN gets the big billing on the bottle, I think of it as a milky niacinamide toner with a PDRN boost. Medicube also puts ceramides and peptides in there, which is a nice extra.
It leaves a soft, dewy film, and on drier skin it feels so nourishing. On oilier skin it’ll probably feel like a skincare layer you can notice, more than an invisible toner, so it depends what you like. Because it already does a bit of moisturizing, I follow it with thinner serums so nothing gets crowded.
My order: cleanser, this toner, serum, moisturizer, SPF. Under makeup it sits nicely too, because my skin feels plump instead of stripped.
The reviews I read mostly rave about the glow, though a few people found it a little sticky or felt their skin didn’t get along with it. Niacinamide doesn’t agree with everyone, so if yours gets cranky with it, start with every other day and see how you go.
iUNIK Beta Glucan Power Moisture Serum
Best for: dehydrated, sensitive or combination skin

Out of the whole box, the iUNIK Beta Glucan Power Moisture Serum is the one I rank first, and it’s also the quiet one. It doesn’t tingle at all. It just makes my skin feel softer and less tight, and I love it for that.
The texture is one of my favorites for a hydrating serum. It’s slippery and a little bit bouncy, not watery, and it spreads so easily over damp skin. Then it’s gone, without leaving a sticky film or any shine behind.
The formula is short, ten ingredients on the list SkinSort has, with beta-glucan as the star and glycerin and adenosine in there too. Worth knowing: SkinSort lists a newer 2023 formula, so older reviews you find online might be talking about the previous version. Check the bottle you’ve got.
Reviews mostly call it calming and good for redness and dry patches, though a small number of people said it didn’t suit their sensitive skin. Even a short formula won’t agree with every face, so I’d still patch test it.
Nothing I’ve put on top of it has pilled, which is half the reason I reach for it. If your combination skin wants more water without more richness, this is the one I’d point you to first. I went much deeper on this one in my iUNIK Beta Glucan serum review.
BeginS by JUNGSAEMMOOL Pink Guava Glutathione Blemish Serum
Best for: dark spots, post-breakout marks and uneven tone

This is the treatment serum of the bunch. The BeginS Pink Guava Glutathione Blemish Serum is all about brightening, and the formula is stacked for it.
BeginS says it has 10% niacinamide, plus alpha-arbutin, ethyl ascorbyl ether (a vitamin C form), glutathione and pink guava extract. There’s centella and panthenol on the list too, which I like seeing next to that many brightening bits.
The texture sits right in the middle. It’s fluid and spreads fast, but it has more body than a watery essence. One dropper does my whole face. It feels a little tacky at first and then settles into a hydrated finish, with no real oiliness. Some people notice a touch of that tackiness hanging around afterwards, so it’s not a totally weightless serum.
My one layering tip: use a thin layer and give it a minute. One person found a cream on top went a bit white and patchy when they layered too fast, so I let it settle first and haven’t had that happen.
It does have a scent – the ingredient list includes clary oil and mandarin orange peel oil, plus limonene, so it isn’t fragrance-free, even though you’ll see a few reviews call it that. I’d describe it as fruity and herbal. Not everyone feels the same way though, and some people find it more medicinal or grassy. It fades pretty quickly either way.
And this is the big one for me. My skin is sensitive, and those fragrance ingredients are mostly why it didn’t make my favourites. Your mileage may vary, especially if fragrance doesn’t bother your skin, but if it does, patch test it first.
And realistic expectations here: brightening serums work slowly. Some people say newer marks faded faster for them, and others finished a bottle without seeing a big change, which is pretty normal for this kind of serum. If you try it, think of it as a steady, every-day thing for marks and uneven tone and give it time.
Rejuran Turnover Cream Enhanced
Best for: mature, dry or dehydrated skin that wants comfort

My comfort blanket in this box is the Rejuran Turnover Cream Enhanced. Seriously.
Rejuran builds it around their patented DOT c-PDRN, which they say is in there at 2,000 PPM, with sodium hyaluronate and panthenol for hydration. Squalane and niacinamide are in there too.
Quick thing, because the name throws people: “turnover” doesn’t mean retinol. I couldn’t find a retinoid on any version of the list. It’s a hydrating, smoothing cream, and that’s exactly what I want from it.
The texture is soft and cushiony. It spreads easily and doesn’t sit on top like a waxy balm. It’s richer than the iUNIK serum, obviously, and the finish is soft and moisturized. If you’re very oily, it might make more sense as your night cream.
Toner, serum, this. Done. On nights when my skin feels dry and tight and generally fed up with me experimenting on it, this is what I want. If you’re in your 40s like me, I’ve got more on what I use in my post on Korean skincare for mature skin.
SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF50+ PA++++
Best for: dry, normal and dehydrated skin, or anyone who loves a glowy SPF

The SKIN1004 Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum feels more like a skincare step than a sunscreen, which is exactly why I reach for it.
It’s light. It glides. It’s the opposite of those thick, draggy sunscreens that make me dread putting on the full amount. I definately understand the cult following now.
The finish is dewy. Very dewy. On dry skin I can picture someone going “where have you been all my life?” On oily skin, you might catch your forehead reflecting the ceiling light, and one reviewer said it got glowy enough to look a bit oily on them. So I’d keep a little powder handy and press it through the middle of your face.
SKIN1004 layers really well. There were some older reports of pilling, mostly around a formula change or when it went over lots of layers, so I keep the steps under it light: toner, serum, a light moisturizer only if I need one, then this. When my skin is already hydrated I skip the moisturizer completely and the finish stays glowy instead of greasy.
A few people with sensitive skin have felt some stinging, mainly around the eyes or when their skin barrier was already having a bad week, so go easy near your eyes. And while the white cast is usually minimal, some people notice a little, depending on skin tone and how much they apply.
Under makeup it works well, because foundation sits on something smooth and hydrated. Just watch it with a luminous base, because you can go from glowy to “why is my face reflecting the window?” pretty fast.
mommy care Green Collagen Boosting Gel
Best for: anyone using a mommy care device, the V-THERA or the Penta Prime

This is the first of the two mommy care pieces, and the mommy care Green Collagen Boosting Gel has one main job. It’s the conductive gel for the V-THERA, so the device glides across your skin while you use it. (STYLEVANA even sells the two together as a V-THERA and gel set.)
It’s a classic light gel – slippery enough that the device moves without dragging, and it doesn’t vanish halfway through, which matters more than you’d think when you’re mid-treatment.
I use a generous layer, more than a pea-sized blob, so it stays slippery the whole time. Afterwards my skin feels hydrated and a little glossy, not greasy.
It’s made with the V-THERA in mind, but it came in the box with the Penta Prime, and that’s what I’ve been using it with. If you don’t have either device, I’d reach for one of the moisturizers in this box for everyday use instead, because this gel really shines when it’s doing its device job.
mommy care Penta Prime
Best for: anyone who enjoys a skincare ritual with a gadget in it

And this is the one with the charging cable. The mommy care Penta Prime is a four-mode facial device: Pore Care, Glow Care, Volume Care and Line Care.
Okay, so far I’m loving it. The Glow setting, at least. I’ve only dabbled with the other three, but Glow? It’s so easy, and I really like the effect it gives. I do notice a glow afterwards. I’ve been using it with the Green Collagen gel it was sent with, which keeps everything slippery while I work.
Little confession here. I was always a bit jealous watching everyone on TikTok with those Medicube devices, which I never tried myself, so having this one and getting to try something that does a similar job has been brilliant. If you want to give this kind of tech a try, I think it’s a great, more budget-friendly way in.
What each Penta Prime setting does
Here’s what each mode is meant to do, going by mommy care’s own product descriptions.
Glow Care is the one I keep reaching for. You use it over your skincare, and mommy care says it works by electroporation, which is meant to open up tiny temporary channels in the skin so your serum sinks in better. As far as I can tell it does a similar job to the booster mode everyone loves on the Medicube devices, which is a big part of why I was so curious about it.
Pore Care is the odd one out. It goes on clean, completely dry skin, only once or twice a week, and it uses the same tiny-channel idea aimed at enlarged pores. mommy care quotes up to 68.83% better pore texture from its own testing.
Volume Care uses microcurrent, a very low electrical current that’s meant to wake up the skin and the facial muscles underneath, mainly for bounce through the cheeks.
Line Care switches to mid-frequency EMS, which works on the muscles more directly to firm things up along the jawline. You use it over a cream or gel, hold it on each spot for a second or two and work upwards.
Each mode has its own coloured light and you can turn the intensity up or down. mommy care suggests three to five minutes a day for the daily modes.
What the research says about this kind of tech
I wanted to know if any of this is backed by more than a brand claim, so here’s what I found on PubMed. None of these studies tested the Penta Prime itself, so treat them as background on the tech, not proof for this exact device.
Electroporation (Glow Care) is a real technique scientists use to get things through the skin barrier, and reviews of skin delivery methods list it next to iontophoresis and microneedles (here’s one review). Most of that research is about delivering medicines, though, not home beauty gadgets.
Microcurrent (Volume Care) is harder to pin down. The closest study I found was a 2024 Korean trial of a home device that combined microcurrent with light, radiofrequency and ultrasound. After 8 weeks, the 36 women using it had better hydration and elasticity, smaller-looking pores and fewer eye wrinkles on the treated side of the face (the study). Because it mixed four technologies, it can’t tell us what microcurrent did on its own.
EMS (Line Care) has the most research behind it, mostly on clinic machines. A small 2026 Japanese pilot found that 8 weeks of facial muscle stimulation thickened the muscles around the eyes and temples in 14 women (the study), and clinic treatments pairing EMS with radiofrequency have lifted brows and firmed skin (one example). A clinic machine is a different beast from a handheld one, so I’d keep my expectations realistic.
Pore Care is the one I couldn’t find any independent studies on. That 68.83% figure comes from mommy care’s own testing.
There’s no pain with it, but you can feel it working – the listing says it runs at 107,000 vibrations a second, which explains the buzzy, mechanical feel. You know you’re doing a treatment and not just rubbing in serum.
Apart from the glow, I’ve noticed it makes me slow down and work my serum evenly over my whole face, instead of slapping it on and rushing to the next step. My skin looks happier when I do that.
The device itself has no finish, obviously. Whatever you put under it decides whether you end up dewy or matte. I pair it with the lighter stuff from this box.
It’s still a fairly new device, so there isn’t loads of chat about it online yet, and it’s very much a “do you enjoy using gadgets?” kind of buy.
If you love a little home facial moment, this one is so fun to add in.

If I had to rank all seven
Here are my favourites, in order. The top four are the ones I love most.
- iUNIK Beta Glucan Serum. The easiest to use, and the one I’d keep around for simple hydration.
- SKIN1004 Water-Fit Sun Serum. One of the nicest sunscreen textures I’ve tried, as long as you love a dewy finish.
- mommy care Penta Prime. The Glow setting has won me over, and it’s a more budget-friendly way to try this kind of tech.
- mommy care Green Collagen Gel. Made for the V-THERA, and I use it with the Penta Prime too. Best kept for device days.
- Rejuran Turnover Cream. A rich cream for nights when my skin wants extra comfort.
- Medicube PDRN Milky Toner. A handy middle ground between toner and light moisturizer.
- BeginS Pink Guava Serum. Last for me, mostly down to the fragrance ingredients and my sensitive skin. Your mileage may vary.
The easiest way to pick
Want hydration that just disappears? Grab the iUNIK serum.
If you want a toner that does a bit more, it’s the Medicube milky toner.
For marks and uneven tone, go for the BeginS serum.
Need a cozy night cream? Rejuran.
Love glowy skin and hate thick SPF? SKIN1004.
The Green Collagen Gel makes the most sense if you’ve got the V-THERA or the Penta Prime.
And if you fancy turning your bathroom into a tiny facial clinic, that’s the Penta Prime.
Got seb derm or fungal acne and want to know if any of these suit you? Paste the ingredient list into my skin ingredient checker and it’ll flag anything worth a second look.

FAQ
Is the Medicube PDRN milky toner good for combination skin?
I think so, as long as you like a toner with a bit of body. It's milky and leaves a soft dewy film, so I follow it with thinner serums and keep the layers light.
Does the SKIN1004 Water-Fit Sun Serum leave you shiny?
It's dewy, so yes, it glows. On dry or normal skin that looks gorgeous. On oilier skin I'd press a little powder through the middle of the face and skip the moisturizer underneath.
Does Rejuran Turnover Cream have retinol in it?
I couldn't find a retinoid on any version of the ingredient list. The "turnover" is about smoother-looking skin, and it's built around Rejuran's DOT c-PDRN with sodium hyaluronate and panthenol.
Is the BeginS Pink Guava serum fragrance-free?
No. The list includes clary oil, mandarin orange peel oil and limonene, so it has a fruity, herbal scent while you apply it. Patch test if fragrance bothers you.
What's the difference between the old and new iUNIK Beta Glucan serum?
SkinSort lists a newer 2023 formula with ten ingredients, including glycerin and adenosine. Older reviews may describe the previous version, so check the list on your bottle.
Do you need the mommy care gel to use the Penta Prime?
Not for Pore Care, which goes on dry skin. The other modes need something on your skin for the device to glide over, and I use the Green Collagen Gel that came with it. Going by mommy care's instructions, a serum or gel cream works too.
What does the Glow mode on the mommy care Penta Prime do?
mommy care says Glow Care uses electroporation to help your serum sink in better. You use it over your skincare, and it's the setting I use most. I find it easy, and I do notice a glow afterwards.
