LOOKFANTASTIC Dermatological Edit 2026 Review: What’s Inside and Is It Worth It?

LOOKFANTASTIC Dermatological Edit 2026 Review: What’s Inside and Is It Worth It?

The LOOKFANTASTIC Dermatological Edit arrived in the mail today and I’ve already been through every single thing in it. Seven products. Four of them full size.

LOOKFANTASTIC say it’s worth over £195, and it costs £50. That’s a big claim for a box, so for each product I asked myself the only question that actually matters with these edits: would I buy the full size with my own money? (Spoiler: three are a clear yes, and they happen to be the cheapest things in the box.)

At a glance

The LOOKFANTASTIC Dermatological Edit 2026 costs £50 (£45 for The Box subscribers) and holds seven products worth over £195: Perricone MD Vitamin C Ester SPF 30, Eucerin Sensitive Protect SPF 50+, Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Cleanser Daily Foaming Wash, Augustinus Bader The Overnight Recovery Cream, Bioderma Atoderm Shower Oil, AMELIORATE Transforming Body Exfoliant and Vichy Minéral 89. My LOOKFANTASTIC discount code LFTFNEVEEN works on it and brought my basket down to £39.50. The full sizes I would rebuy are the Eucerin SPF, the Bioderma shower oil and the AMELIORATE exfoliant. If you have seb derm, check the label on the Kate Somerville cleanser before buying the full size.

Perricone MD Vitamin C Ester Photo-Brightening Moisturizer SPF 30

This one feels like it’s trying to make my morning routine as easy as possible. Moisturiser, vitamin C and SPF, all in one step. I really like the idea of a moisturiser that leaves skin looking fresh and a bit brighter rather than flat or overly matte.

The texture is lovely and creamy without being ridiculously heavy, and my skin feels comfortable and moisturised after. Vitamin C ester is also a nice option if you want some antioxidant and brightening benefits without going straight in with an aggressive vitamin C treatment.

The SPF 30 is a useful bonus. Would I rely on it alone? No. I’d still put a dedicated high-SPF sunscreen on top as my last step, so for me it’s a nice multitasking moisturiser and my sunscreen still goes on after.

Would I buy the full size? Probably not at £64, but it’s a lovely luxury moisturiser if you like a streamlined morning.

Eucerin Sensitive Protect Sun Lotion Extra Light SPF 50+

This is exactly the sort of sunscreen I like seeing in a beauty box, because it’s practical. SPF 50+ and a lightweight texture is a combination that’s hard to argue with.

“Extra Light” is pretty accurate too. It feels so much more comfortable than those thick, sticky sunscreens that make you feel like you’ve wrapped your face in cling film, and it sits nicely over skincare without everything turning into a slippery mess. It feels made with sensitive skin in mind. There’s no strong fragrance fighting with the rest of your routine either, so it reads like proper everyday sun protection.

Would I buy the full size? Yes. At £19, this is one of the most genuinely useful things in the box.

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Cleanser Daily Foaming Wash

This was the one I was most curious about. It’s an exfoliating cleanser, made with glycolic and lactic acids plus papaya, pineapple and pumpkin enzymes, so it cleans and gently exfoliates in one go.

It whips up into a nice foam and leaves skin clean without that horrible squeaky feeling afterwards. Kate Somerville say it’s gentle enough for every day, but with two acids in it I’d still go easy if your skin is sensitive or you’re already using other exfoliating actives.

Is the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate cleanser good for seb derm?

This is the bit I really wanted to know, because I have seb derm on my scalp and I write about it a lot. The short answer: it isn’t made for seb derm, so check the label first.

Stearic acid is the second ingredient on the list, and that’s a fatty acid strict fungal acne lists like to flag. It also has a few fragrance oils in it (bergamot, orange peel and geranium). Because it’s a cleanser, it’s on your face for a minute and then rinsed off, so it’s less of a worry than the same ingredients in a moisturiser you leave on all day. But if you know your skin reacts to Malassezia triggers, paste the full ingredient list into my fungal acne and seb derm ingredient checker before you commit to the full size. (You paste the list in and it flags the triggers for you.)

If you want leave-on options that pass the ingredient check, I went through nine in my seb derm safe Korean moisturizers post.

Would I buy the full size? It’s good, but £41 is a lot for a cleanser. I’d finish the the tube from the box first before deciding.

Augustinus Bader The Overnight Recovery Cream

Now we’re at the luxury end of the box. A 7ml deluxe size worth over £40 is doing some serious heavy lifting in the value department.

The texture feels luxurious straight away. It’s rich but it still sinks in, which is exactly what I want overnight. The best part is how skin feels the next morning, softer and less like it’s spent eight hours fighting central heating.

Would I spend the full price? Honestly, I’m not sure. I can appreciate a beautiful cream, but there are plenty of gentler-on-the-wallet options that give me that same rich, replenished feeling.

Would I buy the full size? Lovely to try, but it would have to seriously impress me first.

Bioderma Atoderm Shower Oil

One of those boring-looking pharmacy products that turns out to be surprisingly good.

It’s more like a light cleansing oil than a shower gel, and it leaves skin so much softer after. It doesn’t leave that stripped, tight feeling either, which is great if your skin runs dry. It’s versatile too. People use it in the shower and for shaving. Some even use it as a gentle first cleanse to get sunscreen off, and I’ve seen several people on Reddit say they’ve been through huge bottles and keep rebuying it.

The scent seems to depend on your nose. Some people call it mild and clean, others find it stronger than they expected.

Would I buy the full size? Absolutely. This is probably the one I’m most likely to repurchase from the whole box.

AMELIORATE Transforming Body Exfoliant

If you have rough, bumpy skin or keratosis pilaris, this is the product in the box that makes sense straight away.

It’s a chemical exfoliant for your body, so the idea is to smooth those little bumps gradually with acids and skip the gritty scrub. I’ve seen quite a few people rave about it for KP. One Reddit user said a small amount on their arms was enough to ditch their usual scrub, and another said once a day worked well for their moderate KP.

I like products like this because you don’t have to spend half an hour scrubbing yourself raw in the shower. Put it on, let the acids do their thing. It can be intense if you’re not used to exfoliating acids though, so ease in, and if you put it on freshly shaved legs, prepare for some serious tingling.

Would I buy the full size? Yes, especially if I had stubborn KP. £18 for 300ml is easy to justify.

Vichy Minéral 89 Hyaluronic Acid Booster Serum

Very easy to like, because it does exactly what you expect a hyaluronic acid serum to do. Adds hydration. Doesn’t complicate anything.

It’s light and a little gel-like, so it layers under moisturiser and SPF without fuss, and skin feels plumper and more hydrated without a sticky film. That said, I think expectations for Minéral 89 can get bigger than the product. Some people adore it, while others, one recent Reddit review included, think it’s simply a nice hydrating serum. For me it’s a reliable supporting player that slots into pretty much any routine.

Would I buy the full size? If I wanted a straightforward hydrating serum, yes, but I’d compare it against some of the Korean hyaluronic acid serums out there first.

Is the LOOKFANTASTIC Dermatological Edit worth it?

The LOOKFANTASTIC Dermatological Edit box, opened

For me, yes. The three products I’d happily rebuy (the Eucerin SPF, the Bioderma shower oil and the AMELIORATE exfoliant) are the practical, everyday ones, and the Augustinus Bader and Perricone are a fun way to try luxury skincare without committing to a full-size price. And if you like an exfoliating cleanser, the Kate Somerville one is a nice way to try it before paying full price.
