Perfume is the gift everyone wants and nobody wants to buy. You’re guessing someone else’s nose, and if you get it wrong it sits on a shelf looking at you (which, honestly, is the worst bit).
So here’s my rule. If you know the scent they wear, buy the gift set version, because you get extras for roughly the same money. If you don’t, buy a discovery set or minis and let them choose. That’s the whole guide, really. The rest is just me picking the perfume gift sets that are actualy worth it this year.

Creed Men’s Inspiration Fragrance Set
Five 1.7ml vials of Creed, including Aventus and Silver Mountain Water. Aventus is the one fragrance guys ask for by name, so if he’s into his aftershave he’ll know exactly what this is. The vials are tiny, but he gets to find his favourite before anyone commits to a big bottle.

How to pick a perfume gift set when you don’t know their scent
Look at what’s already on their dresser. Sniff it if you can (subtly). If they wear florals, stick with florals. If you’ve no clue at all, go for a discovery set every time, because a set of minis can’t really be wrong. And keep the receipt, because sealed perfume can usually go back.
