I spray Lattafa Khamrah on my wrist and my brain goes straight to boozy apple pie. Warm and spiced, the kind of pudding where someone’s been a bit heavy handed with the bottle (which, look, might just be me, but that’s what I get every single time).
I bought my bottle myself and it lives on my fragrance tray with seven other perfumes this month. Here’s the thing though. It splits people right down the middle. Some love it and some can’t stand it. I’m firmly in the love camp, so keep that in mind as you read.

What does Lattafa Khamrah smell like?
How it smells

To me it’s a warm, creamy gourmand with plenty of spice. Creamy is the word I keep landing on (the nerdy term is lactonic, which basically means milky or buttery). Boozy apple pie is still the closest I can get to describing it.
On paper it opens with cinnamon and nutmeg, so you get the Christmas baking bit straight away, with a little bergamot in there too. The heart is dates and praline, and that’s where all the sticky, caramel sweetness comes from. Then it dries down into vanilla and tonka, with benzoin and myrrh underneath giving it a slightly dark, resiny edge so it doesn’t tip into pure sugar.
Funny thing is, Lattafa doesn’t list alcohol as a note at all. The boozy feeling comes from how the dates and spice sit with the woods, and the name helps too (khamrah roughly translates as wine in Arabic).
How long does Khamrah last?
Khamrah lasts 8+ hours on my skin, with moderate to strong projection. That means it doesn’t sit politely close to you – it leaves a bit of a trail. I’d start with two sprays and see how you go, because with something this sweet and this strong, more isn’t better.
Why people either love Khamrah or hate it
Spend five minutes reading Khamrah reviews and you’ll see it. Some people get a gorgeous cinnamon pastry. Others say the cinnamon hits too hard in the first hour. Loads of people pick up a thick, syrupy date sweetness, and some smell chocolate or coconut in the dry down. And the boozy bit isn’t universal either. Some get rum and incense, others get none at all.

What to layer with Khamrah
I layer everything. Lotion, body mist, deodorant, then perfume on top, and Khamrah is one of the easiest bottles to play with because it’s already so warm and sweet. These are my three favourite ways to wear it, best first.

You end up with a boozy cherry cobbler, all dark cherry and cinnamon pastry.
Cherry comes up again and again on Reddit fragrance threads, and I get why. The tartness cuts through the sticky, syrupy dates so they don’t feel as heavy, and the cinnamon gets pulled right to the front.
I tried it with the new Victoria’s Secret Cherry Bonbon Bliss body mist and the matching lotion, and Sephora’s Cherry + Whipped Cream body lotion is one I’ve been testing too. For a perfume rather than a mist, Tom Ford Lost Cherry is the famous one to try, or Zara’s Cherry Smoothie. I’m a sucker for anything cherry though, so take my vote here with a pinch of salt.

This one gives you a festive spiced apple pie, or an apple crisp straight out of the oven.
Funny thing is, there’s no apple in Khamrah at all. Loads of people (me included, look at my title) call it apple pie because of the cinnamon and nutmeg up top, but the fruit is all dates. Add a crisp, juicy apple scent and the cinnamon suddenly has something to hang on to, and the whole thing turns into autumn apple cider.
For perfume I’d go for Kayali Eden Juicy Apple, or Elysia Apple Rouge by Fragrance World for a lot less money. Underneath I like the Victoria’s Secret Pink Glazed Skin body oil in Pink Apple with any vanilla lotion, or Fenty’s Butta Drop in Salted Caramel if you want more of a toffee apple. You get a smooth vanilla extract and date syrup blend.
It comes last because Khamrah is already loaded with vanilla, tonka and praline in the base, so more vanilla doesn’t add anything new. It just makes it sweeter and heavier. Where it does help is a rich vanilla lotion underneath, because that gives the perfume something to cling to and softens that sharp first spritz.

Khamrah vs Khamrah Qahwa vs Khamrah Dukhan
There’s a whole little Khamrah family now, which gets confusing fast. Khamrah Qahwa came out in 2023 and adds coffee to the mix. Dukhan pushes things in a smokier direction. Then there’s Khamrah Waha, the fresh one, with yuzu and sea salt in it. The original is the one I own and the one this review is about.
Is Khamrah a dupe of Kilian Angels’ Share?
It’s the comparison you’ll see everywhere, but Lattafa doesn’t call it a dupe. They share cinnamon, tonka, praline and vanilla. Angels’ Share is built around cognac and oak though, while Khamrah leans on dates and myrrh instead. Same cosy neighbourhood, different house.
My verdict on Lattafa Khamrah
I love it. It’s sweet and it’s loud. It also lasts all day on me, and every time I wear it I smell boozy apple pie. If that sounds like heaven, this is your bottle. If it sounds like too much, it probably will be.
