My June K-Beauty Faves (Including the Ones I Bought Because TikTok Made Me)

My June K-Beauty Faves (Including the Ones I Bought Because TikTok Made Me)

I have a confession. A genuinely embarrassing amount of what ended up in my skincare routine this month started because I was doom-scrolling TikTok at midnight and someone very convincing spritzed a mist onto their face and I went “yep, need that.” No regrets. Well. Mostly no regrets. One of them did not work the way I wanted it to. We’ll get to that.

I’ve been a K-beauty fan for years now, but I feel like my routine really shifted this month – less “I’m trying things” and more “okay, these are my actual every day products.” Which felt like the right time to do a faves round-up. All of these are things I’m genuinely using. Some have been in my routine for a while, some are brand new additions. And because I know a lot of you also care about this stuff, I’ve checked the FA (fungal acne) safety on every single one. I’ll flag it as we go. (If you want more K-beauty picks specifically for rosacea, I also wrote about 10 Korean skincare products that helped my rosacea – that one goes deeper on the redness side of things.)

The Sunscreen I’m Using Every Single Morning: Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Aqua-Fresh Rice + B5 SPF50+

I’ve been a Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel girl for years. Like, genuinely loyal. But this one is giving that same “sits flat under makeup” energy with even more moisture, and right now my skin is really wanting that. It layers so nicely under my base products, doesn’t pill, doesn’t turn white on me, and doesn’t leave that tacky feeling that some SPFs do. I’m not abandoning Canmake forever but I’m definitely having a moment with this one.

The Eye Cream I’m Suffering Through Because the Product Inside Is Worth It: Numbuzin No.9 NAD+ Retinol Volumetox Eye Cream

Okay, the packaging. It is fiddly. Like, I’ve had smoother experiences opening a pistachio than getting this thing to actually dispense product consistently. Allegedly there’s a tube version coming and the second I hear that’s available I am ordering it immediately. But the actual cream? I’m using it every night and I genuinely like it. Niacinamide, retinol, peptides, ceramides – it’s doing a lot of things under my eyes and I’m here for all of them.

❌ Not FA Safe – Contains fatty alcohols (Cetyl Alcohol, Behenyl Alcohol), Coconut Oil, and Olive Oil. Eye area only, so it matters less for most people, but flagging it anyway.

The TikTok Mist That Actually Delivered: Anua PDRN Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Capsule Mist

Right so this is one of the “I saw it on TikTok and bought it immediately” ones. People kept using it to melt powder into their base and make everything look more skin-like, and honestly? It works. I spray it over my base after setting powder and it just… removes that powdery look. Gives me moisture without making me TOO glowy. Just that kind of healthy, freshened-up finish that I’m always chasing. (I’ve tried other Anua products too – my thoughts on the Anua azelaic acid serum are a bit more mixed if you’re curious.)

I use it for a mid-afternoon spritz when my skin needs waking up. Works.

❌ Not FA Safe – Contains Castor Oil/IPDI Copolymer and Soybean Oil. If you’re FA-prone and using this all over your face daily, something worth knowing.

The Serum I Keep Going Back To: PURITO Wonder Releaf Centella Unscented Serum

I’ve mentioned this one before (I think I called it my “quiet workhorse” at some point, which is exactly what it is). If you have redness, flushing, rosacea, sensitivity, irritation – basically if your skin is dramatic in the same ways mine is – this serum is so, so good. Gentle, no fragrance, doesn’t set my skin off. That last bit sounds like a low bar but for my skin it genuinely isn’t – I’ve had “gentle” serums make me flush before. This one just… doesn’t. That’s the whole review, really. I keep coming back to it because I trust it, and with rosacea-prone skin that does not happen often.

✅ FA Safe – No fatty alcohols, no oils, no problematic ingredients. One of the cleanest formulas on this list.

The Impulse Buy That Needed Some Recalibrating: Dr. Althea 345 Relief Cream Mist

Okay so. I bought this one because TikTok made it look like you could use it the same way I use the Anua mist. Spritz it over powder, melt everything together, chef’s kiss. That is not what happened on my face. Things separated. I looked too glowy in a kind of “did she put oil on her face before her foundation?” way. Not the vibe.

BUT. I figured out what it actually is good for and now I love it. I use it in the morning as part of my skincare, before makeup, and it feels so gentle and lovely as a skin prep step. My face feels more awake. I notice a difference in how my skin feels. It just isn’t a setting mist. It’s a skincare mist. Two different things!

The Lip Product I Now Own in Multiple Shades and Have Zero Plans to Stop: LANEIGE Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum

I have Cinnamon Sugar and Sugar Glaze and I’m already eyeing the rest of the range. The donut applicator is fun in a ridiculous way – I feel slightly unhinged every time I use it, in a good way. And the smell is genuinely gorgeous (I know, I know – it’s a lip product, I’m basically eating it, don’t @ me). But here’s the thing that actually got me: my lips felt soft the next morning. Not just in the moment. Actually soft hours later. I’ve got a luxury lip product sitting in my bag that cost three times this and does not do that. So.

I wear these alone sometimes, sometimes layered over a lip liner, always happily.

⚠️ Use caution (contains fragrance – not relevant for fungal acne as it’s a lip product, but patch test if you’re very sensitive around the mouth area)

The Vitamin C Serum That Didn’t Make My Skin Lose the Plot: Dr. Althea Vitamin C Boosting Serum

I’ve had a complicated relationship with Vitamin C serums. Sensitive skin plus rosacea plus being impatient about results is not exactly an ideal combination. But this one has been in my morning routine for a little while now and I have not had a single flare. It goes on thin, sinks in fast, and my other products go straight on top without any weirdness. Whether it’s actually doing anything visible yet – I genuinely can’t tell you, it’s way too early. I’ve been burned before by Vitamin C serums that promised a glow and delivered a flush instead, so I’m still in wait-and-see mode.

✅ FA Safe – Clean formula. Note: contains orange peel oil, which can be a potential trigger for some rosacea-prone people. I personally haven’t reacted but worth knowing.

The Clay Mask I Use in Short Bursts Only: Beauty of Joseon Red Bean Refreshing Pore Mask

Clay masks and I have a long, complicated history. I tend to pull them off before the timer goes off because I hate that tight, dried-plaster feeling on my skin. This one is gentler than most I’ve tried – it doesn’t leave me feeling like my face is going to crack if I smile – but I still don’t leave it on for the full time. Sensitive skin stuff. Also I’m impatient. But for a gentle pore mask that actually feels kind of creamy, it’s a nice one.

❌ Not FA Safe – Contains Cetyl Alcohol and Cetearyl Olivate/Sorbitan Olivate. Wash-off product, so lower risk in practice, but still worth flagging.

The Thing That Made My Foundation Apply Better: Innisfree Green Tea Ceramide Milk

This came onto my radar as a “glass skin prep” product and listen. On my skin, “glass skin” translates to “shiny redness with large pores clearly visible.” That’s just my face. But what this actually does – what I keep coming back for – is it makes my Dior stick foundation just glide on and blend like a dream. Smoother application, everything sits better, and there’s a subtle glow under my base that I actually love. Not a glass skin product. Is a “my foundation suddenly applies like a dream” product. I’ll take it.

⚠️ Use caution (contains Polyglyceryl-6 Laurate, Soybean Seed Oil, and Sorbitan Isostearate – if you’re strictly FA-safe, check the full ingredient list before buying)

The Sheet Mask Box I Pull From When I Need to Calm Everything Down: VT Cosmetics Cica Daily Soothing Mask

This is one of those big drawer boxes with 30 sheet masks you just pull out whenever you need one. I do not use these daily – more like twice a week, on mornings when I’ve overslept and I’m puffy, or on evenings when my skin needs to calm down. They cool my face off, they’re soothing, and they don’t dry out even though I’m not using them every single day. If you’re new to sheet masks and want to start somewhere, this kind of big box is a great way to get into the habit without feeling like you’re wasting individual packets. (If seborrhoeic dermatitis is also part of your skin situation, I’ve got a full guide on the best treatments for facial seb derm – cica-based products like this one do come up a lot.)

✅ FA Safe – Clean formula. Cica-based, gentle, no nasties.

FAQs

Is the PURITO Centella Unscented Serum good for rosacea?

It’s one of the most rosacea-friendly serums I’ve found. Fragrance-free, no irritating alcohols, nothing that typically triggers my skin. I’ve been using it on and off for a while now and it’s consistently gentle.

Can you use the Anua PDRN Mist over makeup?

Yes – that’s actually what I mainly use it for. A few spritzes over a set base to knock back that powdery finish. Hold it about 10-20cm from your face and let it mist on lightly. Don’t drench it.

Is the Dr. Althea Vitamin C Boosting Serum okay for sensitive skin?

From my personal experience, yes. It’s gentler than a lot of Vitamin C serums I’ve tried. That said, if you’re very rosacea-prone or reactive, patch test first – it does contain orange peel oil which can bother some people.

What’s the difference between the Laneige Glaze Craze and a regular lip gloss?

The formula is genuinely more skincare-forward – ceramides, hyaluronic acid, polypeptides. It’s not just shine. My lips actually feel conditioned after wearing it, not just coated.

Why is the Beauty of Joseon Red Bean Mask not FA safe?

It contains Cetyl Alcohol and some Olivate-based emulsifiers that can potentially feed the malassezia yeast responsible for fungal acne. Since it’s a wash-off product, the risk is lower in practice than with a leave-on product – but if you’re being strict about it, it’s worth knowing.

Is the VT Cica Mask box worth it if you’re not using it daily?

Honestly yes. The box keeps everything fresh, they don’t dry out, and using them twice a week still gives you real value from the 30-pack. I’m not using mine daily and I’m still getting through it at a reasonable rate.

Where can I buy these K-beauty products in the UK?

All of the products in this post are available at Lookfantastic. Use my code LFTFNEVEEN at checkout for 20% off – I’ve written up exactly what the code works on, what it doesn’t, and every other way to save on my Lookfantastic discount code page.

Are these K-beauty products suitable for sensitive skin?

Most of them, yes – I have rosacea, flush easily, and have seborrhoeic dermatitis, so I’m pretty selective. The PURITO centella serum and Dr. Althea vitamin C serum are the gentlest on this list. The Numbuzin eye cream and Beauty of Joseon mask need a bit more caution if your skin is reactive.

What does FA safe mean in skincare?

FA safe stands for fungal acne safe – it means the product doesn’t contain ingredients that are likely to feed the malassezia yeast that causes fungal acne (also called malassezia folliculitis). Key things to avoid if you’re FA-prone include certain fatty acids, oils like coconut oil, squalene (not squalane), and some esters. I’ve noted FA safety for every product in this post.
