DO U WIGS sent me the Choice wig in Milk Brown to review, in exchange for my honest opinion. I want to be upfront about that because I think it matters. Gifted product. Entirely my own thoughts. And as someone who spends a lot of time in full wigs reviewing them, I do not give positive reviews because I feel obligated – I’ve had exactly one brand ask me to fake a five-star Amazon review and that story’s over here if you want the entertaining version.
So. DO U WIGS. The Choice wig. Let’s actually talk about it.

DO U WIGS is a Chinese wig brand that’s been growing in the alternative hair community, particularly among people with hair loss who want a full wig with a more natural-looking lace front. They sit in the mid-range price bracket – not budget Amazon territory, but not the prices you’d pay for a top-end human hair piece either. The sweet spot where you’re hoping for quality without the full financial wince.

Milk Brown as a shade is one of those colours that photographs slightly differently depending on the light. In person it leans warm – a soft medium brown with a natural, not-too-dark look. The lace front is what makes or breaks a wig at this price point, and I spent a significant amount of time looking at it before I said anything on camera because I wanted to give it a proper look.
First Impressions Out of the Box
The packaging was good. Actually good, not just “fine for the price” good. It arrived in a box, the wig was on a stand, there was no chaotic fluff everywhere. Small thing but it sets a tone.
The lace front was the first thing I properly examined. The lace itself is fairly fine – not as fine as some of the more premium pieces I’ve worn, but finer than a lot of what you see at this price point. The knots were there (they always are on pre-made wigs, you can tint them to reduce the appearance) but the hairline itself had a reasonable amount of baby hair movement to it. Not stiff, not obviously fake-fronted. Better than I expected.
The cap fitted well. Adjustable straps at the back, combs at the front and sides. That paranoid constant repositioning feeling wasn’t there – if you’ve worn a bad-fitting wig you know exactly what I’m talking about.
Wearing It
Full wigs feel different to hair toppers. That’s just true. There’s a head-covering thing happening, there’s heat, there’s a slightly different relationship with the world. If this is your first full wig, go in knowing there’s a short adjustment period where your brain needs to catch up with what your head is doing. The good news is it really does catch up fast.
I wore the Choice wig for a full day out to see how it performed in real life. The cap stayed put. No migrating forward, no slipping back, no that-panicked-moment where you feel something shift mid-conversation. The hair behaved well. It washed nicely, air dried pretty straight, and took heat styling really well. I put a bit of a wave through it, which dropped out after a day or two on the mannequin head, but it takes heat without complaint.
Heat was the one thing I noticed. A full wig traps warmth more than a topper does because it’s covering the whole scalp rather than just the top section. If you run warm naturally or have rosacea (hi, same), you’ll feel this more than someone who doesn’t.
The Things Worth Knowing Before You Buy
You’ll probably want to customise the hairline. Out of the box it looked like a wig hairline – not badly, better than a lot at this price – but it was a wig hairline. Tinting the knots, plucking a few hairs to reduce density at the very front, and adding a bit of dry shampoo or concealer at the parting can close the gap between “nice wig” and “is that her actual hair.” I cover everything under-the-wig in this post which also talks about securing wigs properly.
It’s human hair, which is the good news. That means you can heat style it, and more importantly you can dye it and have it cut and customised to whatever you want. Which matters here more than usual, for reasons I’ll get to below.

The chunky highlights, which are the whole story with this colour
Milk Brown is not just brown. It’s a light brown carrying chunky blonde highlights, and they are properly chunky. Very nineties, which I mean affectionately.
They’re bolder than the listing photos led me to expect. Either I didn’t spot how chunky they were or the pictures didn’t show it, but if you order this expecting a plain medium brown you’ll get a surprise out of the box.
I posted a photo wearing it on Instagram and the reaction split neatly down the middle. Half the comments were a firm no to chunky highlights, the other half loved them.
So this is genuinely both a pro and a con depending entirely on you. If you like them, they’re there and they’re bold. If you don’t, pick another colour, or order this one knowing you’ll be customising it.
I’m having mine softened and thinned so they blend more naturally, which the fact that it’s human hair makes perfectly possible. In the meantime I’m having my bit of nineties fun with them.
Two other things I’d want to know first
Mine came with a clip on only one ear tab
There’s a clip in one ear tab and nothing in the other, and there were no spare clips in the box.
I don’t know whether that’s how the Choice is built or whether mine was missing one. Either way, if you were planning to secure it with clips at both temples, be aware you may only get one.
Worth saying the cap is secure enough that I’ve never felt the need to glue it down, so this hasn’t been a practical problem for me. It’s just not what I expected to find.
It shipped directly from China
My sealed box, in this colour and this style, came straight from China.
I want to be careful here, because this isn’t a criticism and it certainly isn’t a reason not to buy. I own several toppers ordered directly from Chinese vendors. A great many wig and topper brands source their pieces from Chinese factories, and what you’re paying the markup for is the customisation, the colouring and the quality control the brand adds on top. Some brands do that work in house. Not all of them do.
The reason I’m mentioning it is that I couldn’t find this stated anywhere on their website. I looked. So if you order from DO U WIGS, just be aware your piece may arrive directly from the factory rather than from the brand, and go in knowing that rather than being surprised by the customs label.

My Verdict
Genuinely better than I expected. I went in with cautious optimism and came out actually impressed. The lace front is better than the price point deserves. The fit is good. The Milk Brown colour is pretty. For a mid-range synthetic wig it delivers.
You’ll want to do some hairline work to make it look really natural, but that’s true of basically every lace front wig at any price. As an everyday wig for hair loss, for someone who’s comfortable with the full wig lifestyle, this is a solid choice.
